New Post time, who wants to start things off?
Back in the land of the living
Well, not quite alive yet - need beer food and bed - not neccessarily in that order
also found out i'm a doryphone!!! or was that Mike Vose - can't remember
Welcome back Chum. Yours was the last Chumment I expected to open up this new post thread.
See you for beers on Friday afternoon mate.
Love the video & the pics.
Welcome back Giz! Enjoy the beer food & bed.
Ahoy Giz. Welcome back to terra firma, Cumbrian rain, Rambo's rants & a selection of fine ales awaiting your approval! Scanning the look-a-likey page, it's gonna take plastic surgery to beat Jovi now. Well researched :)
Welcome home Giz x catch up with you soon x
Oh almost forgot photos from Saturday are hilarious and video is better with the music :-)
Looky likies are good too.
Tickets have been bought for Edinburgh wed 8th August but don't worry anyone can still get one they will always be 25 quid just ask for an off peak day return.
We are meeting in Woodys for slap up breakfast at 8.00 to 8.15am we will be leaving to get the train at 9.15 sharp.
We will be having a little drinkies on the train but please do not feel obliged as everyone can drink at their own pace and soft drinks are not frowned upon :-)
more info to follow Chum Chum Chum !!!!
Welcome back Giz catch up with you soon
I like the count down clock
I like the countdown clock too. Photos from Saturday are excellent. After spending the day with the camera, who'd have thought it was the one thing I forgot to take on the night, DUHHH!
i agree with you shaggy, theres some top pics,i even appear on acouple myself.theres some nice chord work going on there too
Cheers Mike but you didn't have to put up with the unholy & unmelodic racket that I made. Very rusty & a tad pished :(
Good see ITT & NNN last night, always going to catch up eventually. Keep chumming at Olympic standards!!!
Cheers, Shaggy. Good to see you & the Chums too. I hope you did'nt have to resort to revealing your 2nd t-shirt to anyone!
Keep On Chumming!!!
Glad to say Ian, the second tee-shirt stayed safely under wraps mate :)
For this relief, much thanks...
Me too chum. Yay!
Please keep your eyes on Edinburgh away day link as information has and will be added here to keep you up to date with whats going on. Chum Chum Chum!
The bios are looking good, please add more.
Love the bios, very entertaining! Sad me & ITT can't make Edinburgh, weirdly we are at his nieces wedding nr Edinburgh on Friday 10th so we almost pass. Sort of.
We seam to be making a habit of this remember Glasgow lol
So we did! To add insult to injury i am actually up at 4.30am that day to get in for a very early trial....ITT on nights, poor us
Liking the links to Edinburgh, gets you right into the mindset. Nice one Nicky. x
Thank you Shaggy x
The sands of time are running out................
'till the chums awa' day, YAAAAYYYYYYYY!
Don't forget yer wee sporrans for sneaking out Brew Dog glasses on the first chum tour of a capital city. See ya all on Wednesday.
Have a great time Chums & Chuminas. Whilst you sit down for a yummy breakfast in Woodies, spare a thought for me standing in work, swearing & sweating over Ginger Nuts! ITT will be rolling over in his sleep dreaming of a pint no doubt between his n/shifts. Chum chum chum ;o)
Whose Ginger Nuts, have we met him?
One sits to the left, one to the right, I kid you not!
Have booze-filled, culture-spilled time in Edinburgh, Chums. Keep an eye on Ripper John sneakin' off down dark alleys, making deals with Burke & Hare!
Looking forward to the tales & photos when you get back.
Keep On Chumming!!!
Weather forecast for Edinburgh tomorrow, sunny spells with the likelyhood of outbreaks of jovial drunkeness :)
Make time for a scooby snack or two, scoooby scoooby doo!
Thank you NNN and ITT for your good wishes, it would be great if you could make it to the next one x
One more sleep till Edinburgh hurrah! I'll be the one in the dark glasses as I've now added an eye infection to my ever increasing poorly sicknesses I'm sure I heard someone say real ale cures everything x
So Chums until tomorrow 8.00am Woodys be there or be A 4-sided regular polygon with all sides equal and all internal angles 90°
Chum Chum Chum!!!!!!!
10 hrs til Edinburgh trip starts :-)
Cracking day-out in Edinburgh chums. Full marks to Nicky for keeping us all in check. See you all soon. YAAAYY!
Aye a grand day oot indeed.
I am slowly getting the Edinburgh pics page sorted, It should be ready for editors to contribute hopefully sometime tonight (ie 3am:))
grand day in edinburgh chum, some great pics and a great time was had by us browns, ewan capped it all at the end when he was asked to be quiet, thanks all
Well Mike, you managed to put up with us the whole day......
which doesn't reflect well on you two, Ha Ha! Catch up soon :)
Hiya Chums - fab to meet some of you in Carlisle following your Edinburgh trip. Got a couple of pics but not sure if I can put them on this website. Colin says Hi too. x
Hi Helen. glad you had a grand away-day too & it was a pleasure to meet you & Colin. I have a good photo of you to go on the site soon so you can be the first of the County Durham chapter, Ha Ha! Keep on rockin' & hopefully catch up with you sometime soon. T'was good crack. Ian x
It was nice to meet you both and sit a while with another fan of Mott/Hunter....the rest of the Chums can be philistines when it comes to appreciating good music:)
I remember you saying that you get over to Carlisle a bit. When you are over next put a comment on the site and we can all meet up for a proper night out.
Thanks both. Mostly we probably travel over for gigs if the tour doesn't include Newcastle or we do both if we're feeling that way inclined. Colin is looking forward to Lizzy on Friday @ The Brickyard, but I can't get the time off work so can't make it - they're fab with Ricky Warwick singing - what a frontman - far superior to Sykes. :)
Lizzy are actually at the Sands centre - not the best of venuues but shouldn't matter if the music is good
I'll be there - A few drinks in The Napper first
Do you go to any of the gigs in the Cluny?
Started adding photos to my page
Check them out
Bugger - yes - sorry The Sands - we had trouble finding the place last week and now I can't remember the name of it - lol. Yes we go to The Cluny. We're going to see Heather Findlay Band there in November, it's a Tuesday mind you so prob best for locals.
Heather Findlay band sounds good - I'll have to check if i'm free for that
Hi Gizmo. Like the photos especially the Fernhessen tower. Very spacey. Were you able to go up inside it?
Yes you can but having 2 guys with fear of heights meant it will have to wait for next trip.
When i mean fear i mean FEAR !!! One turned a very sickly green/white colour just at the mention of it
Love the photos, looks like you had a blast in Edinburgh x
ps looking forward to the rest of yours Giz...
More being prepared as we speak
Prez I'd recognise that sofa anywhere. It was about 7 ft long and I've spent many a drunken night on it. Also remember that wallpaper and the bonny lass on the sofa was and still is Judith Chalmer's cousin Catherine.
So does that mean it was at Paul's house?
Well it was at the time when he still lived at home. His mum and dad's house.
Also just spotted Paul's mate Theo sitting just beyond you. Who knows, I may have even been in the room.
Sounds like the place to go at kicking out time when our licensing laws were tighter, Chums. I bet Prez was just happy to get 13% extra free in his can of John Smiths!
Keep On Chumming!!!
Thanks to all of the Chums for making Edinburgh a fun chum day out (wish it had been longer it is a beautiful city) lets call it a recce.
This Sat is a Chums night out and don't let this put you off but I will be playing out late as I have the Sunday off YAY! All welcome as always and Club Rock here we come hopefully until anout 4.30ish :-)
Nice page Gizmo and nice one Neil I'm liking the Mars trip very exciting, the Star Trek episode is funny too :-)
Nick was that photo taken just before Christmas you haven't changed much :-) x
He he he
It's very late. I have put Donald to bed after a lot of whisky and smokes and am feeling very smug.
Good and unexpected night, cheers chums:)
Ok, Prez, the game is up. You not only look like Charles Manson in but due to the photographic evidence, you spent the mid-late eighties (judging by Theo's jumper) recruiting your very own Manson-style Family. This got me thinking that Carlisle is not exactly the Hollywood Hills when it comes to famous people so imagine my utter despair when i realised the catastrophic effect the deaths of Gilly Frazer &/or Eric Wallace would have had on Border Crack & Deekabout!
To the Chums going to see Thin Lizzy tonight, have a great gig.
Keep On Chumming!!!
We were actually targeting Derek Batey.
'Mr and Mrs...be nice to each other...'
How could i have overlooked the kipper-tied local legend of national fame?
I have just googled Derek Batey and he is still with us!!
Actually he isn't with us as he moved to Florida, but he's 84years old
I have just seen Neils notification about the death of Harry Harrison. Another fantastic writer gone.
I was a big HH fan as a kid and onlward and think there were only four or so books on the slide show that I hadn't read (Slippery Jim was a big hero of mine and I always imagined him as James Coburn).
Can I just say what a top night Lizzy layed on last night. Not a band counting their days to retirement but a vibrant new line-up. Well done to Scott, Ricky & the boys. Also a huge thanx to Colin & Helen for convincing me that it was more than a tribute act, would hate to have missed that gig, cheers Durham Chums! Hopefull see ya both again soon :)
Finally finished the Berlin Photos
Some good pics and info reminds me of when I was in Berlin in 1987
I agree with Ewan. Some great pictures there Gizmo. Looks like a great place to visit. Love the huge kettles. Wouldn't want to brasso them.
Check it out chums.
Well done to THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. A worthy winner, even though I voted for Plan 9.
It was and still is a good film.
Cheryl's Happy Birthday night out was a great success fun was had by all, photos to come. Thanks to some inventive camera work by an unknown artist why not visit the Function Room at the Makars Pub and play 'Who's Crotch is it Anyway'?
Just wanted to send out a big thankyou to all for an excellent night out:)
Special mention goes out to Judith, for her most delicious cake and Nicky for providing the tools for entertainment both at the pubs and for home, he he he;)
Feel very privileged to have a brilliant ready signed card too! x
Sorr y we missed alot of you, belated happy birthday C, glad you had a great night x
Just added some new pics for you on 'The Bridge' page
Once again some great photos Gizmo. You and Ian should get together and have Shizmo's gallery.
Ewwwwww can we have a happy birthday Cheryl pic for pic of the week please the bum one is putting me off visiting the home page yucky!!!!!
If anyones a fan of film soundtrack music why dont you visit Nerdvana and try the Goldsmith challenge :-)
Happy birthady Cheryl twas a grand nite out. See i had mi ugly face on again in them photoes ;-)
Hmmm, oh deary me. I'm afraid I've fallen at the first hurdle. I have no idea what the Goldsmith tune is:(
Only just checked out Giz's new pages. Almost tempting me to have a bottled continental beer & from a dark & ruby ale drinker, that's quite an achievement! Excellent photos Giz :)
My guess is Total Recall for The Goldsmith Challenge. It has to be a sci-fi film to be in Neil's Nerdvana & i think he's cleverly put it in because of the soon-to-be-released remake.
Good guess ITT an absolutely correct :)
Ok next question...........
One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind
And so a legend departs the the land of the living
R.I.P Neil Amstrong
Here, here! Sad news. I'm wearing my Armstrong roots proudly today.
A great man. A brave man. A quiet man. The sort of guy that didn't do it for fame and fortune but to advance his and our understanding of our place in the universe. Rest in peace.
Very sad news. He was a hero to those of our generation who liked our heroes unassuming. We are old enough to remember the change it made to the way the world thought and he formed our attitudes, our daydreams and, of course, our hobbies and interests.
I want to nominate him as our first posthumous honorary Chum
George McDonald Fraser in a book he wrote made a very interesting observation. In 1969 Neil Armstrong, President Nixon and Billy Grahame were sat together attending a Political event.
Arguably the three most influential men in America, was each of Reiver descendent.
Makes you proud to be a Borderer.
I'll second the nomination for Neil Armstrong
I suppose that means we need ANOTHER page for the site...
Nice to see Weebly have initiated 'Fancy Boxes' for photo albums. You can navigate through batches of pics by using the thumbnails at the bottom. A nice touch is that you can use your left and right arrow keys to move rapidly through the album.
Go give it a try...
My guess for the second 'Goldsmith Challenge' in Neil's Nerdvana is 'Logan's Run'.
Yay ! Spot on ITT.
Is anyone else having a go? We can rename the challenge Beat ITT!
I beat him on a regular basis, it is why he is so well behaved!
Hiya Chums - we are almost certainly coming over to Carlisle for the Rock and Blues Fest on Nov 10 @ The Swallow Hotel, mainly to see Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash who if you haven't seen them lately are still on fire. We have seen them three times so far this year and each time have had a chat with them (not name dropping at all - just chuffed about it). It's £45 each for the Sat line-up which includes Mick Ralphs (who we saw recently at Cambridge Rock and Beer Fest) and lots of others. We have to wait until pay day (Friday) to buy the tickets, but this should be a great night. Maybe we'll see some of you there. :)
I'll definitely be there - already have the full weekend ticket
Actually i prefer Andy Powell Wishbone Ash whom i saw at the Highlands Blues festival in Holland But What the hell Live music is always goooood
PS The Festval also has real ale which makes life even better
We have seen Andy Powell's version too, but prefer Martin Turner's, but both very good, and as you say live music is always goooood. Real Ale will please Colin. I'm more of a rose wine girl myself. :)
Rose Wine!!! What a girl, ha ha! Not sure if I'll be at the Festival yet but there'll always be a warm welcome for you both in the Kings Head if you can fit it into the Blues Fest :)
Not even a year for this weeks Goldsmith Challenge? Hrmph! I'm gonna ignore all the Star Trek soundtracks he did & take a stab in the dark with Hollow Man.
Keep On Chumming!!!
Ok Ok 1978 but no googling!!
And no its not Hollow Man!!
wow I know this one, Capricorn One
Well done Ewan. Finally some competition for Ian :)
I've been beaten by NNN......and now i'm beaten by Ewan!
Well done, Ewan.
Off to Sunny climes tomorrow
Will see you all on my return
Keep on chumming
All the best mate.
Don't worry once you are back in the nautical saddle, as it were, the time will pass quickly enough and you'll soon be Chumward bound again.
Take Care Giz we will miss you as always xXXx
Bon voyage, Giz or toodle pip as my nana used to say!
Bon voyage Gizmo.
Second star on the right and straight on till morning. :)
Ok, after weeks of feeling uncomfortable looking at other mens packages, i've finally brought myself round to answer only four of the Maka's "Who's Crotch Is It Anyway?" Quiz.
B) Mr Maka himself (camo shorts)
C) Prez (the shirt looks vaguely familiar)
D) Johno (dayglo green & tweed combo is a giveaway!)
E) Dennis (is it a semi-on or a lazy lob (or just an old camel toe!) in beige canvas pants?)
The other two could be anyone (me included).
Keep On Chumming!!!
You are a very brave man to admit to doing this.
Every other Chum has probably looked and pondered packages but no one had the guts to post this confession for the world to see:)
I was asking Nicky If she thought it would be OK to do a whose cleavage is it anyway....oddly enough she thought THAT was inappropriate!
Errrr the Goldsmith challenge may just have been made a little bit easier by it being on over the weekend.
Am I right?
You dirty stinking Ape.
Your darn tootin Prez.
Didn't know it was on as I don't watch tv.
So pure coincidence :)
My sons just given me his christmas list for Santa..
A list of u.r.l.s a mile long.
Well thats progress for ya :(
Hi Chums - we are now not coming over for the Carlisle Blues Fest as it's gonna be too ruddy expensive. The icing on the cake was the 8% fee on each ticket purchased via the Net - ffs. I'm sure it'll be a fab weekend and that those of you who go will have an amazing time. H
I totally agree. Me & NNN (like many Chums) go to see a lot of gigs and the booking fees per ticket are a complete rip-off. You feel like your being taken advantage of for supporting live music. And don''t get me started about people buying tickets to sell on ebay! Rant over.
Try not to let it stop your passion for seeing live bands.
Keep On Chumming!!!
It won't stop us going to local gigs, or gigs where we can buy the tickets from a local box office etc. We often go to gigs in York without paying such extortionate fees. We have several gigs coming up starting with Mostly Autumn at The Sage, Gateshead, just up the road from us. Colin is off to a gig at The Cluny tomorrow night too and then to York on Saturday - busy, busy, busy :)
I'm gonna take another guess at the Goldsmith Challenge and say Leviathan. I do hope i've found my early form/luck!
Haway man at least listen to it first !!!!
I did this morning and thats my wrong guess!!!
I think ITT was taking a leaf from the paralympics and having a go at blind guessing.
Ok, ok! How could i have not recognised the opening bars on the Goldsmith Challenge? Trying to play it quietly at 5.15am does'nt help but excuses won't wash. I'm not sure if its a variation on the theme for the different films but i'll get my coat!
Taxi for ITT!!!
Your getting there. Now you just have to pick a number from 1 to 11 :)
I'm going with Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.
P.S. I'll go back to studying crotches!!!
I'll up the ante and say VI...
Now we're talkin'!
Sorry folk Shaggy correctly identified the theme as Star Trek First Contact number 8 or as Shaggy put it "that one with the Borg in".
It was in the pub after several ales so I'm not sure how many clues I gave but what the hell it means I can put some prog in the music room for a change :)
I demand a stewards inquiry.
Blatant bribery and corruption by team Shaggy.
Sorry Prez, sh*t happens :)
Don't worry Prez you will get another chance. Don't think it was easy for Shaggy to admit he'd seen a Next Gen movie. The Goldsmith challenge is having a slight hiatus to give chums a chance to listen to some proggy stuff from the prog awards but it will definately return.
Oh did I happen to mention there's some great proggy stuff to listen to in the Music room Chums.
Share and enjoy.
I'm PROGressing my way through them now, thanks:)
Bet the Music room gets more hits than Jovi's Metal page this month...
Speaking of matters Trekky. Check out today's Google search page banner.
It is very good.
Yes 46 years young and showing no sign of going limp.
Live long and prosper \ \\//
Liked red shirt guy best
Whilst visiting the Music Room in Neil's Nerdvana i thought it would be good idea to play all the Prog tracks together. Now that is one helluva Psychedelic Prog audio mindf#*k track!!!
Keep On Chumming!!!
You shouldn't do that chum you can have too much of a good thing. Besides each track is a progressive gem on its own (apart from TesseracT which I don't get at all ). Its like putting loads of flavours of jelly babies in your mouth at once. ( MmmmmmJelly babies )
What a brilliant idea ITT!
I am watching the closing ceremony and think i'll take it one step further. Turn the TV volume down, Whap them all on together and have some kinda experience,
Well mebby I should have done as I suggested. I feel like I have just sat through a Coldplay benefit concert.
Not very diverse or original if you ask me....
Uuuurrggghhhhh! A Coldplay benefit concert!!!
Take me back to my 'safe place'. Where was it again? Oh yeah, Jelly Babies & Iron Maiden, mmmmm!
Well done ITT for taking part in the who's crotch is it anyway challenge (they all wanted to really). As a married woman I of course have no idea of the answer, I even added them blindfolded so as not to abash my delicate persuasion, I think the answers must be sort from the perpetrator who I believe has a birthday coming up, although I would never reveal his name or indeed his crotch :-)
I bet his crotch has a mustache too.....
Yeah. Brave man for having a go.
I wouldn't even know my own crotch if it hit me in the face.
Not from that angle anyway :))
Oh Mickey you're so fine.......
Excellent stealth chum :))
Didn't know Nicky was poorly, get well soon chuckles, hope to catch you soon x
It seems Ewan is checking the page from Greece (Hello mate!) I have just 'pinged' the IP address of the mystery commenter '?????????' and it hails from near Athens. Now who do we know is there at the moment?:)
Ha hahahahah :))
Thats hilarious lolololol
Great hol thanks seen some think better looking than a donkey that had four legs
Incidentally Shaggy apologies for your comment 10/09/2012 2:39pm not getting posted. For some reason the server marked it as dubiousor possibly SPAM and held it pending.
I also noticed this one had suffered a similar fate.....
Bret Michaels said:
Here Here! Absolute huge thanks to all the chums for a cracking Birthday night, one that won't be forgotten in a hurry. Special thanks to Bruce for the hospitality & a great spread. We might be getting a wee bit older but we're not acting like it ;)
Thank you prez for the very large picture it has cheered me up no end, I'm just filling in the bags under my eyes so i can try to make it out for tomorrow. Thanks for the well wishes too, back off to the doctors on Thurs - all hugs gratefully accepted but disclaimer-( if this does end up being smallpox I accept no responsibility for the outbreak 90% mortality, if however it is rabies you should be ok unless i bite you in which case 100% mortality - YOU DECIDE!) it could of course simply be the anemia in which case I'll be on the Guinness :-)
Hope to see you out tomorrow hun! If you are anemic we'll order up a pint of virgins blood & cover for you by saying you've moved on from rose to a full-bodied red. I'm sure Jovi will join you in that round. If we can,t buy virgins blood we'll just grab Rambo then you would get rabies :)
Yay! I'm not dubious anymore - or am I?
Yay it's finally been included today!
Ο σκύλος μου δεν έχει μύτη.
You have no dog
No he doesn't and after hearing about what Ewan has spent his first day back doing I bet you are quite chuffed about that.
All Geeks speak Greek! ;-)
....so do all Nerds come from the Nerderlands?
I am back
Chum Chum Chum !
Happy Birthday, Ewan! Sorry me & NNN can't make it on Saturday for your celebratory night out cos we're gan on our hols. Have a good un, Chum.
Happy birthday mate.
Beers to follow.....
Happy Birthday Ewan chum. Glad the Prez used one of the minority of photos of you taken North of the equator, if you get my drift! Catch ya tomoz.
Yep older than some but of course younger than some
Happy birthday chuckles, have fun!
Is it me or is Lilyhammer the funniest thing on tv at the moment? It has Steve Van Zandt almost reviving his Sopranos role as a NY mobster on a Witness Protection Programme who wants relocated to Lillehammer, Norway cos it looked nice in the '94 Winter Olympics. The first episode is still on BBC iplayer for 4 days & it's on BBC Four on Tuesdays. Give it a go if you have'nt seen it.
Keep On Chumming!!!
I watched a wee bit of the first one and agree it's good. I think it will get even funnier as the episodes go on,
What can I say about last night lots so here goes.
Thanks Chums for last night it was a great one,
and my birthday card is fab but not sure if I carried the scarf off,
and I am sure there's going to be a lot of pic's to prove it
also the glasses and racing toys if I can call them that were just great
Thanks again CHUMS
This is comment 171 so it seems appropriate that I write it.
Yep great night Ewan. Some excellent piccys which I will be putting up today.
Good to see that everyone had a good night last night. Sorry I couldn't be there to join you. Happy Birthday again Ewan & looking forward to seeing the photos :)
Sorry folks. Having a problem with the music room. If it plays up when you visit can you let me or Neil know? Ta.
Well it just took 5 minutes to load the screen. You'll know when its loaded cos the Goldsmith music will start. You'll all be happy to know I've removed the prog so its safe to go back in the water.
I like the idea that prog music can disrupt a web page with its awesomeness:)
I can't get the Goldsmith to play fully it keeps buffering so I as yet have no idea what it is.
Its a real easy one this. If you haven't seen the mystery film then I don't know what planet you come from.
Looking at the chummnts page. all I can say is 'nowt gan on of any interest with me either'. Need a Chum night soon! Oh, it's tomorrow, YAY!
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday, dear Nicky,
Happy Birthday to you!x
Happy birthday hun. See ya tonight. XX
Seeing that the Chumments Page is a little quiet at the moment, i thought it was time to reveal a two interesting facts about me.
1)My knob is the same size as 2 Argos pens.
2)I'm barred from Argos!
Keep On Chumming!!!
Aw man we have to write with those!!
Yey HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICKY know you will have had a good nite with the chums n co i will peek at the pictures when loaded :-)
OK so who snuck a picture of Carole Munro into the Cheryl's Birthday Night Pics?
Just so as you know it definately wasn't me.
Thank you chums for the birthday wishes and the huge card and the pink fluffy stuff but mostly thanks for all being my chums you are all the best present I could ever wish for xXXx
" Oh Nicky you're so fine. You're so fine you blow our .....etc"
Happy birthday for tomorrow x
I have just seen that someone has arrived at our site by googling Carlisle, Pennsylvania Pub Crawls.
Wonder what they made of us?
Also can I have some feed back about the new look home page and personal Chum's pages landing?
Mint. I'm a big fan of things that are easy to access.
Its looking good
Like the new look for the site. I believe this is the proper 'Happy Birthday Nicky' day. Have a brilliant day hun & see ya tomorrow. XX
Well done on the new fresh-looking homepage, Prez.
I'm guessing again on the Goldsmith Challenge & i'm saying Gremlins.
Happy Birthday, Nicky.
Keep On Chumming!!!
Happy Birthday, Nicky hope its a good one
i would like to take the time to wish my own personal band tramp a happy birthday, happy birthday nicky
Hope you had a smashing day and are being spoiled by all your boys tonight.
Love Nick and Cheryl.x
Thank you all darlings......I have had a lovely day and yes the boys made my tea bought me a book and chockys and an M&S vouture :-) Maka bought vino and a bottle of Snekky :-) Ali boots made me a Chocky fudge cake and Ola made tiramisu, I have lots of lovely presents and had a great Chum night out on Sat what more could a girl wish for :-)
Belated birthday wishes, work has not been kind on my return so not had much chance to skive! xxxx
Happy 200th post, Chums!
The Nerdvana master Bedroom is excellent. Check it out Chums.
I still have no idea which film the latest Goldsmith Challenge is:(
Love the vid of old Carlisle
The Goldsmith challenge
Bloody hell FINALLY !!!
Yes Ewan you are correct.
The Goldsmith challenge
The Mummy (1999)
With Brendan Fraser
Correct again Ewan.
Is anyone else playing?
Ok Chums the next one is a teensy weensy bit harder.
Is this weeks Goldsmith Challenge Outland? I'm still playing but gettin way behind Ewan in the weekly quiz!
Keep On Chumming!!!
Yes ITT you are correct.
Bloody hell it took two weeks to guess Alien but less than 24 hrs to name a soundtrack that sounds just the same!
Well done anyway.
Way-hey! Watch out, Ewan. I'm back!
If anyone needs to chill out other than me then why not visit my master bedroom page on nerdvana.
PROG ON CHUMS
My guess for the Goldsmith Challenge is The Boys From Brazil.
Keep On Chumming!!!
P.S. I know my guess is'nt technichally sci-fi but it pips the post against 'The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins' for catchiness!
Thats ok cos this weeks Goldsmith challenge isn't technically sci-fi either.
Oh by the way ( Bah Bah ) wrong answer.
Bugger! It must be The Omen then. I do hope i'm allowed two guesses!
Mate your on the right track. Definately getting warmer but still
wrong, wrong, WRONG!!!
Have as many goes as you like.
Just watched Hitler's reaction to the Pagoda closing down. Hillarious. Pure shan and that :))
Anyone who enjoys watching paint dry why not have a look at this instead. Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner is now sitting in a little space capsule at Rosswell New Mexico waiting for the breeze to drop in hopes of performing the highest freefall ( 23 miles ). It also happens to be the 65th anniversary of Chuck Yeager's sound barrier breakthrough.
Lets hope Felix has the....What's that stuff called again?
Watch it live here
Don't worry if you don't notice this message for a couple of hours cos no doubt he'll still be sitting there.
Watching it now; 26000ft and climbing...
found better picture on youtube. Not as much buffering.
He's about to take a very BIG first step for a man....
I haven't had any buffering issues.
Couldn't have said it better myself Ewan.
24 + miles straight to hell. Isn't it great the human race can still produce nutters of this calibre?
Gripping and real time THAT'S what the internet does best.
'Isn't it great the human race can still produce nutters of this calibre? ' Absolutely Neil, watched it this morning with ITT,he is truly bonkers!
"Absolutely Neil, watched it this morning with ITT,he is truly bonkers!"
My question is...who is bonkers the Austrian or ITT?
It's cold and wet
I see nothings changed in the last 6 weeks
not a sausage!
Except two bits of news, one sad, KP died & the other, Rambo is working again
Welcome back gizmo
Hope you all had fun in woodies, for some reason I didn't see the text until I switched my phone on this morning, weird. Was in work anyhoo :o(
Hmmm the 'Goldsmith' this week is a real poser. It's unlike any that have been posed before and the haunting Kids chorus is annoyingly familiar.
Regarding Halloween, after last years successful eve I believe Nicky will be announcing the location for this one.
So watch this space....
Aye, it's a tough one this time. I'm gonna go for my 3rd attempt with Poltergeist. I'm running out of Goldsmiths so Neil must be!
Keep On Chumming!!!
ITT you've done it again. You obviously know your film scores. Trouble is I am rapidly running out of Goldsmith. Well the sci-fi/fantasy side anyway. I may have to do the Williams or the Elfman challenge next.
I love the Hitler clip from the brilliant 'Downfall'.
Who would have thought the Nazi dictator would feel so passionately about not being able to dance to Lou Gramm's 'Midnight Blue' with Eva Braun again? Luckily, Rock Nights at Annabells & Clouds came to the rescue and prevented an invasion of Botchergate!
Keep On Chumming!!!
Oh Yes Halloween :-)
absolutely no idea if this link will work but for those who don't have facebook
There is a Halloween Party in the Linton Holme Inn on Sat 27th October. There is lots of Spooky fun to be had with a late bar and music I'm sure there will be lots of spiders ghosties and ghoulies.
Please come along we will be there about 8.00pm fancy dress is optional but encouraged. The important thing is that we have a Fun Spooky night so please all come along for drinkies and good times :-)
ps The pound shop and B&M have loads of Halloween stuff so no need to spend a fortune :-)
pps I'm playing out late that night :-)
I would love to be able to make the Halloween night but unfortunately i'm working a 13 (unlucky for some) hour shift as the clocks go back. It means that all you Chums get an extra hour of peev though!
Keep On Chumming!!!
Just watched Hitler, absolutely hilarious :-)
They said that in 1934 and look what happened...
All the best to the Prez, Cheryl & the chums who are involved with the big move today, sorry I couldn't commit. Working Halloween weekend but plan to be there & just a little well behaved. Chum, chum, chum.
Got the lot shifted in one afternoon, Den and Ewan were excellent movers.
Special thanks to Ewan who doubly suffered (in silence) as he is allergic to Cats and he was shifting all the stuff the cats sleep/lounge upon.
We owe you both a slap up meal at Mrs Miggins' Pie Shoppe with Big Beers.
We always knew Den & Ewan were 'excellent movers' due to their Club Rock activities. Apparently, they're both quite efficient at shifting furniture too!
Keep On Chumming/Moving/Shifting Furniture & or Cat Bedding!!!
I can imagine they'd be like the chuckle brothers.
"To Ewan....To me" lol
2 new photos in th rngine room - larry millar last ight - more to follow
Did I just lol on the chumments page?
Shame on me!
Great pics of the Larry Miller Band from last night, Giz.
Shame on Neil for his lol but had to look up pmsl. Hope you had a cloth handy, Neil. As for the Goldsmith Challenge, it was my third attempt.
Right Comment No. 250 seems a suitable place to close this post and start a new one.
