The Sett
Home of the European Badger (Meles meles). A complex underground burrow system that they dig themselves.
Some can be centuries old, as can the regular paths Badgers use above ground.
Badgers are extremely nervous creatures, the slightest unfamiliar noise, smell or movement can cause them to scamper out of sight into the safety of their setts.
After five unsuccessful years of trying to see these monochromatic little blighters during the daytime, this is my first attempt at photographing them. Crouched behind a military cam net for three hours, I was lucky enough to get a few shots of this beautiful animal.
