Crikey!! Stealth chumming seems to be the most popular chum pastime.
Kids today eh?
Why do I even bother?

Prez
3/10/2013 03:53:20 pm

This rather cryptic comment is in response to an email I sent Neil showing him that there had been four times as many hits on the stealth chumming page as on any other one.

I think it was a bot rather than some morbidly obsessed user visiting the page time after time, after time, after time, after time after time....ooops

Check out Giz's new pics Chums. Excellent stuff as usual, but does anyone else think that your boyo is looking more like a Peter Jackson Dwarf? - the first pic on the page could be a still from The Desolation of Smaug...

Sorry Stu:)

Prez

Well here's an amusing thing.

I have just noticed and removed a link I made when I changed the Chumment strands that once clicked effectively allowed anyone to change/add/delete/rearrange anything on the entire site.

Friend or foe could have played merry havoc using this 'backdoor'.

Finding that was a very nasty moment for me indeed....

Well Prez I think Brad Pit has finally redeemed himself.
World War Z is a most enjoyable little Zombie romp. Found I was sitting on the edge of the seat a few times.
Some nice Dr Who references with the W.H.O. organisation in Cardiff of all places and Peter Capaldi. So smiles all round I think.

Prez
5/10/2013 02:51:20 pm

I agree with some of that. As I said it was certainly better than I thought it would be but still a flawed film and shoudn't be allowed to be called World War Z being different in characters, premise, storyline, and ending,

The set piece chases are the best parts and they were edge of the seat stuff and they gave a new 'zip' to the zombies

I thought the films worst flaw was that it was edited down so much that it looked like an ego veihicle for Brad - something Pitt isn't usually accused of.

Brad Pit saves the world singlehandedly and is in shot in every scene and at times this made it look more like a zombie video game....

"You too can be 'Agent of WHO' who comes out of retirement for his last, greatest mission"

---Cardiff level complete: New mission unlocked---Begin---

And why does he have to have a family? Just so he can miss them? They serve no other purpose than to come safely home to. Surely knowing you have saved the world is comfort enough?

The montage at the end makes you want to weep at all the stuff they filmed but ended up on the cutting room floor. Apparently at one time they were planning to make three films which were darker and bleaker and not the popcorn summer blockbuster the accountants demanded

Did anyone notice Jack out of Lost as part of the helecopter rescue team at the beginning? Apparently he was supposed to have a relationship with Brad's wife when he ends up losing his cell phone and is pressed ganged into a zombie extermination squad for a few months after the Belarus plane crash lands....sigh that would have been good..

The novel describes a war and then a post-zombie world that is FAR more believable, interesting and a logical development of having to fight the undead hordes than the film. This has a sit-com ending where all resloves itself and returns to a unimaginative default setting.

Read the book Chums.

BTW I think the Who reference was more coincidence as the World Health Organization is real and they wouldn't have known Capaldi was the new Dr. Nice idea though.

I have just noticed we are about to hit 40000 hits on the site soon.

Who'da thunk it, eh?

ADMIN
6/10/2013 07:12:22 am

Just a quick word of warning and I suppose explanation.

Gizmo's pages have been taken off line for a while. The pages are in the process of some major re-vamping and he is leaving us again for the delights of Amsterdam so won't have time to complete the rebuild. The directory structure of the pages is very confusing to navigate so I have closed it all down until his return.

Rumours that he hasn't paid his bills, has left the Chums and formed a schismatic Chums of Belgium, or been caught watching Fosters lager ads are all (as far as I know) untrue.

Normal service will be resumed upon his return.....

As I start work re-defining my personal pages I thought I would let you know the reasoning behind it all -----

My work explores the relationship between Bauhausian sensibilities and emotional memories.

With influences as diverse as Caravaggio and L Ron Hubbard, new synergies are distilled from both constructed and discovered structures.

Ever since I got my new cameraI have been fascinated by the theoretical limits of the human condition. What starts out as yearning soon becomes corroded into a cacophony of frustration, leaving only a sense of unreality and the chance of a new synthesis.

As shifting replicas become reconfigured through boundaried and diverse practice, the viewer is left with a clue to the outposts of our future

The new pics are impressive mate. Awesome spot.

The Main Deck is open for viewing last trip to Amsterdam

Gizmo
12/10/2013 06:40:38 am

Perhaps this is more accurate ---

My work explores the relationship between the universality of myth and skateboard ethics.

With influences as diverse as Kierkegaard and Roy Lichtenstein, new variations are created from both explicit and implicit structures.

Ever since I was a teenager I have been fascinated by the endless oscillation of the mind. What starts out as contemplation soon becomes debased into a dialectic of temptation, leaving only a sense of what could have been and the dawn of a new beginning.

As temporal derivatives become reconfigured through studious and diverse practice, the viewer is left with a clue to the possibilities of our condition.

last night we were discussing a night to do Laserquest and someone had the idea of doing it on a Chum Saturday before we meet. What do any others think? There was talk of having beer then mebby food then LQ and then go to the Chum Night, so we would be playing about 6ish to 7ish.

Prez
13/10/2013 07:39:29 am

You can tell this was a bunch of blokes talking about it as there was no thought to ladies getting dressed up in there Saturday night glad rags (and heels).

If this is an issue (or if any girly girls are coming) then the idea should be scrapped.

Congratulations, Prez & First Lady! Great news. Nearly fell off the chair with the name options. We've a few months to think of names for baby chums/chuminas but my suggestion is chumkins.

Happy new year to all chums

sorry for taking the walk of shame so early last night but a very large neat Cuban rum just pushed me over the edge

Only just managed to see in the new year at home before crawling away to bed - yep couldn't stand so all fours was a lot safer

Woke up at 1:30 to find all the lights and TV still on

Someone is using a pneumatic drill on the back of my head and I have no idea what animal used my mouth to deposit it's bodily waste but it tastes disgusting

Even tapping these keys to wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year is hurting

Cook, eat and early bed on the cards

Ciao

Andy

Nice one Gizmo. That same animal paid me a visit too.

Prez
25/2/2014 03:38:54 pm

Well here's a odd coincidence. I have just read that 'We built this city' was written by (amongst others) a bloke called Dennis Lambert.

Some kinda freaky anesthetist love child/hybrid thing going on there lads?

Prez
25/2/2014 04:54:28 pm

I was saying to Jovi I could remember seeing a documentary about a patch club in 85. I have found it on you tube and it is well worth a (re) visit if only to see how we used to live in the olden days. Some of the club members remind me of 'famous' Carlisle grebos.

They are obviously playing to the camera and not really hard core, bless 'em, but I thought they were soooo cool when i saw it first.

Go here to watch it....

The good thing about finally getting a job is that I now have some dosh. The down side is that I often work weekends and cannot catch up with Chumly Chum Chums.

So, while missing the banter and stimulating conversation (or utter shite), I thought about what film titles I would use to describe my sex life.

I'll start with "While You Were Sleeping".

What's yours? :)

Hahahahaha!!!!

How about......

"Lord Of The Rings".

Prez
6/3/2014 04:21:02 pm

I love your idea Andy.

I would like to say 'Raging Bull' but given Cheryl's current state I really think I should choose Steve Martin's 'The Jerk' as mine :))

Prez
6/3/2014 04:23:39 pm

And if there were any Chum virgins they would presumably have to choose First Blood.

:)

Keep 'em coming folks...

Andy
6/3/2014 04:28:15 pm

There is potentially a sequal there Mr Prez..... "The Raging Jerk" (which sounds like a very low budget porn movie anyway).

Another film title which would (in my dreams) sum up my sex life would be " DEEP IMPACT".

In reality though " TINTIN" would be more appropriate or " NIL BY MOUTH".

Prez
6/3/2014 05:30:54 pm

The sequal would surely be The Jerk - the second coming?

:)

Andy
7/3/2014 12:36:12 am

Hahahahaha!!!

Very good Nic :)

How about... "The Jerk II......just when you thought it was all over".
