New Thread time. It's a blank canvas, go fill it with stuff Chums...
The challenge is about a, Danger Man, who also done time as the prisoner and Madness did a version of the theme :-)
Too late mate, that challenge was revealed ages ago:))
Is anyone suffering today after the three game work out last night?
The pain the pain!
Actually its ok when I avoid going up stairs.
Or down stairs.
Or tying my laces.
Anyway it was a fantastic night out. Don't know why we haven't done it before but it really should be added to the c-ale-nder as a regular chum event.
And yes the Prez guessed correctly. The mystery theme was Danger Man.
Time for another.
I expect this one to be guessed very quickly.
If it's gonna be answered quickly I better have a go then.
I'll tell you what it is tomorrow people.
Correct once again.
Am I making these too easy?
Ok one more for tonight.
This ones not exactly hard when we were brought up watching this sort of stuff.
Doog yrev, doog yrev...as one of the characters in it used to say:0
Come one come all.
Saturday, 23 March 2013.
Mill & Amy's Amazing Housewarming!
More details on Facebook or ask in the Napper.
So was it the Adventure Game?
Absolutely 100% correct.
Check it out chums :)
That's a difficult one.
Whoever gets it will be head of the class, or some such like.
*Sigh* I meant Top Of The Form....
Who,s all coming along to Milly & Amy's house warming tomorrow night?
Enough Ouzo, I'm off to bed.
New challenge. This is a spooky one m O.O m
Well the New Challenge has got me stumped, any ideas anyone?
Nice to see pics of all of the events I missed over xmas period due to poorliness (oh, ok, man flu!) & the house warming pics, again missed, due to self inflicted misery of a hangover this time....I need rubbed out & drawn again. Hope to see some of you at Gareths 40th
Some nice pics on here but how bloody wasted do I look at Mill n' Amy's party? Been pretty busy lately but will hopefully be back on the chum track by next Saturday.
Ok now a clue to the challenge according to Wiki.
............................is a television drama for children produced by HTV in 1976 and broadcast on the United Kingdom's ITV network in January and February 1977
'Children Of The Stones', chum.
It's me, ITT!!! Bloody touchscreen keypads!
Damn it you're right. I remember the series but didn't remember the tune.
Happy Birthday to Judith xXXx great pics and of Milly and Amy's housewarming. Looks like Wed is my regular chum day at the moment great to see lots of Chums xXXx
Oh and welcome to yet another Paul chum, it was fun to see Ewan take care of his initiation :-)
New Kylie vid in my bunker if anyone intrested
Now Sky is back I can see it:)
C'mon Mr quiz man play us another tune....
So having just watched Neil's centrifuge experiment as Milgram would say 'put a man in a white coat........'
Thinking about it I wear a white coat at work every day but so does everyone else so put lots of people in lots of white coats = lots of authority figures with no one to boss about :-/
Its funny how we automatically trust anyone if they're wearing a white coat. (They're here to help you Neil just get in the van with the nice men)
Well done to IU/ITT for guessing the challenge (ahh the wonders of you tube). Just for that there will be no clues this time.
New challenge chums. Check it out.
An 80's classic.
John Christopher wrote the very good books that the series were based on. I still have them.
I have just looked at my recently unpacked book collection and I am missing the second book of the three.
Damn. I used to have them all.
Ok chums the prez knows but does anyone else?
I'll leave it on for now.
In the mean time there's another one to have a go at.
And Ewan I do like the Trek band picture. Like I always say
Tune in to Nerdvana for some really serious Sci-Fi.
Watch the sky chums.
That's a weird coincidence. I just showed my Nephews the Pakistani Dalek yesterday.
New Photos from last weekend in Holland added on The Bridge page
Chck out a church with a sense of humour
Great photos Giz and you even manages to catch a ghost at the monastery :-) well done.
Great news about the Sabbath tickets lets hope Ozzy can keep it together for December (the last time I had tickets to see him he almost killed himself on the quad bike)
Oh I'm not ignoring anyone that happens to text me by the way my phone is not playing nice today not sure if its the weather or time for a new phone :-/
new photos of the boys and Haweswater on the crows nest page
Really nice pic's of Haweswater and the chums walking club, looks like a great day you had and the weather was very kind to you,
seen some red heads in the napper on the night due to it.
"England with all thy faults, I love thee still-- My country! and, while yet a nook is left Where English minds and manners may be found, Shall be constrained to love thee."
lovely pics Giz! x
Great pics indeed, and a great sentiment Ewan too!

New Photos on the Crows Nest
Off again tommorrow morning
Chums away to all and sundry
See you all soon
Farewell Gizmo and May the fourth be with you.
see you in sunny June Giz xxxx
Good cheap chum day return on Sunday and no fall outs (apart from the contents of Jovi's pants) (oh and some musical differences) Lets do it again soon :)
Did anyone who had a McDonald's feel a wee bit poorly? I had a non-diabetic, non-alcohol puking fest for most of the next day.
But it was a grand day oot indeed, made even better for dropping £10 on the Napper quiz machine after we got back:)
A web page will be appearing shortly with editorial rights for all to upload the pics.
No puking but plenty of guffing from all involved. In fact I dropped more than a tenner this morning :)
I was not in a good place about 5:00 this morning. As Ian says I was shaking like a Sh*tting Dog.
Sigh mebby I'm just getting old...
I'm doing the Penrith page now. Online in 20 mins or so:)
It's been a while but there's a new challenge in the music room.
'To bake an apple pie you must first create the universe'.
My first drinking Club was the Sagan's Slaves in honour of this very, very great man and this gobsmackingly profound TV series.
Your best challenge tune yet!
Absolutely 100% correct.
Well it looks like Weebly isn't going to let me load any audio today so I'll have to take a break from the challenge for now.
Just nicked Jonathan's Penrith photos off facebook and added them to ours.
Are we still waiting for someone elses?
Many thanks to Dee for his hospitality last night.
It was a good crowd in a good place.
Another Chumly night indeed.
I will make a page for the pics soon.
Yes an excellent night at Dee's great chumly times the walk home to the breaking dawn was magical too :-)
Excellent towel usage there Ewan
I'm still thinking of Jays chicken :-)
FINALLY I've been able to upload a new tune so the challenge is back on :)
There's a slight technical hitch with the newly uploaded Penrith pics; you can't enlarge them.
Nicky can you try to upload them again or stick them to me at the next Chum club?
Despite my best efforts to gain an unfair advantage and pump Neil for clues for this weeks challenge; I have no idea what it is.
He said it was a 1980's show if that helps anyone...
No one has mentioned the Chum away day on the 23rd. Is it still happening?
I'm back in Carlisle by the way.
Yep still on as i mentioned it on sat night but not planned as yet
Ok I can see this music challenge has proved too difficult even for our greatest minds.
Time for a new one.
Check it out in the music room.
In case anyone hadn't noticed.
There will be a small chumly party coming up next month.
See Neil's nerdvana for more details.
I know it.
An excellent ITV program with Tom baker as 'tower master' for a while.
The tune is part of Julian Lloyd Webber's variations. for an additional point what other ITV program used (and still uses) one of the other variations?
Well that didn't take long :)
The theme sounds a little like Treasure Hunt with Anneka (fat arse) Rice but it also sounds a lot like the South Bank Show at the end. Am I close?
Yup, the South Bank Show.
There's some good youtube stuff with him and Gary Moore playing all the variations with a bunch of other serious musicos.
Newcastle was such a good day out with the pubs we had not been to before such as the Crown
A very good session indeed.
The Newcastle page is now open for viewing or uploading pics.

It is on Wednesday, sorry for the confusion caused.
Confusion reigns and we all get the wrong day
I believe Brazilian will be Thursday?????????????
Thursday damn it...bit stoned last night....
So does that mean Wednesday club is unaffected?
I too am a tad confused!
Wibble Wibble Hat Stand Fish Tank etc........
Wednesday Chum afternoon is unaffected and goes on as always :-)
Thursday is the meat eating night :-) 5pm woodys
Bloody hell! Just seen the clusterf*ck that has reigned on the site, haha! Glad that I just attended Wednesday club & am now about to go & meet the meat! It is Thursday 4th isn't it????!!!!??
New Photos on the new "experimental page" - The Chain Locker and last walk in Ennerdale on The Crows Nest
Very spooky photos Giz reminds me of Rubycon great music :-)
Hmmm still no idea as to the latest Music Room TV challenge.
It sounds 'fishy', there was a 70/80s US thing that was about a marine man type thingy, is that it?
Someone like Bill Bixby was in it?
MMM I think the marine man type thingy you mean was "The man from Atlantis" with Patrick Duffy. The year is the same though 1977. This one replaced "Gemini Man" with Ben Murphy when it didn't do so well in the ratings.
Another clue. Imagine "Lost" if it was filmed in the 70's.
Gone but not forgotten we will remember it
Yet More Photos added on the crows nest
I've just seen the pic of Tara mate, lovely shot that captures her perfectly.
Also have people looked at Ewan's joke section yet?
Excellent night last night Chums. A real success and congrats to Neil for making it better and better each year.
Also some new stuff to the site - see the home page for updates...
Thanks to all the chums that attended last night.
Same time next year?
Oh and after the big tidy (in case anyone's interested)
58 assorted bottles
110 beer cans
Whos bright idea were the party poppers??
I'd do it all again tomorrow :)
Thanks Neil totally chumtastic night had by all especially me :-)
oops brought party poppers and forgot about them and the glow sticks
too busy having a good time :-)
Great photos too chums :-) and a happy birthday to all 3 of ya xxxx
Cheers Neil, brilliant night & a great chum turnout. Ended up well fed & very well drunk!
The photos look great! Once again, we were tempted out early by the sun & didn't make it to your great looking do, the human dip tray looked awesome!
Tidied everything up again
I notice your picture doesn't lead to your home page but your button does.
Is this a mistake? It might confuse people as usually the button and the pic open the same page.
Sorted - Tanks for pointing out the deliferate mistale
Been playing late into the night with the new backgrounds but I feel possibly that they're too "busy"
Lovely and psychedelic but back to basics I think
check the chain locker and critique
I think the new pics are ace.
I'm sure one of them could have been used as an early Klamhydia album in the late 60's Psychedelic.
Does anyone fancy 'researching' it?...ITT?
I'm researching as i post, Prez!
Stealth Chumming LIVES
It does indeed..bum, bum!
Oh dear I didn't see that chumming.
:) @ Neil
Bye Bye Chums
See you all in 6 weeks
New old pics of raunchy nights in the Napper have been uploaded to the vintage pics page, go look chums....
Great pics with alot of familiar faces!!!
Yes good vintage photos nice to see you were all so sensible in those days :-) and nice to see photos from Paul and Silvia welcome to the club Chums xxxx
smashing chum club last night all.
Dam'it Prez I was only supposed to do the Sunday Afternoon club, for a couple of hour not make it a chum night
Verily twas a chumly eve of chilled ale, merry japes and raillery.
Same again on Saturday?
heres am odd thing. Im sitting in the grounds of st albans cathedral its a warm balmy night im full of real ale from a pub older than the trip to jerusalem with a joint in my hand. Nowt changes it seems. Actually it does im writing this on a mobile phone. Cock ing hell the bell just donged and i nearly wet myself. Chum chum chum.
I almost spat a blueberry out laughing Prez!
Is that a euphemism NNN? :P
Sounds like piles?
Day three in Kentland. I have already commented that first impressions of Margate were it was Botcheragte-by-the-sea. Tired, rundown and in need of a good wash (just like me). Yesterday was taken up with the wedding so we did nowt but drink and eat all day and then the same again at night. The venue was a hotel so had the usual John Smiths rubbish. I hacked it as long as I could then went on Guinness after that got too heavy I tried Fosters lager then ended up on Krone-nbourg 1664 Sorry Chums I will of course offer to resign my Prez-ship for joining the light side but the Smiths really did taste like ....err John Smiths.
I have Zeitgeisted a Celebrity Stealth Chumming that took place whilst on the Amber nectar. Tried to explain to the other guests what Stealth Chumming was...not easy as the beautiful northern accent proves quite a handicap down here,
Today we went paddling and did seasidey stuff as Cheryl's birthday treat (she really is that easily pleased) then to see Deal Castle. Off to Bodiam Castle and Hastings tomorrow. After that Dorset here we come.
I hope the Chum night went well start chummenting any craick as I am out of the loop 'darn sarf' as they say here.
Finally Cheryl has asked me to say a big thank you to Ewan and Ruth and to Nicky and the rest of the Chums for her cards etc. She had fun opening them all by the seaside.
Chum, chum chum...
The connection here is rubbish I will upload the pic later if I get the chance.
Oh you do like to be beside the seaside oh you do like to be beside the seeeeaaaaaa.... etc etc ... Pleased Cheryl had a nice birthday, I'm sure she will make an excellent job of her gift and not go out of the lines :-)
Oh and watch out for those Gulls I am reliably informed the ones with the pink legs are herrings don't let them get yer chips x
PS cant believe it is a year since Edinburgh where does the time go?
Arrived in Dorchester and god has it changed! I remember a sleepy little town but we are staying in a new development in a once underused area.
Off for food then a trip down beer-memory lane... I hope i am not as shocked by the change in the pubs as i was in the town.
Good news everyone (as professor Farnesworth would say) at least two of the pubs here are still 'as god intended'
Went to the Tom Browns tonight (as a Fan of JMF's Flashman books I gravitated towards this pub in the 80's because of all the memorabilia and the fact it brews its own ales in the back of the pub.
They still Brew Tom Brown and Flashman's Clout both excellent and now a brew called Durdle Door (6%)it is still a smashing boozer.
I walked past my most favorite pub here Goldies/ Brougham Arms and it looked even better. I am saving visiting there until tomorrow night.
We are going to Maiden Castle tomorrow, then Cerne Abbas (the chalk man with the big willy) the latter has a pub nearby that claims to be the narrowest in England so will get a tape measure and see if our one in Manchester can beat it.
BTW we had some time in Winchester and had a meal in the pub that claimed to be the oldest 'bar' in England. That's three I have been in
Ooops bed time.
Chum chum chum...
Love the celebrity stealth chum! Got a charity do in memory of a friend on the 28th (Cockney Ian's daughter combined with a 'leaving drink' so probably can't do the 28th :o(
It's not as cool as being done by Ernest Hemmingway but it's close:)
NOT A FAN OF CHANGE NORMALLY BUT IMPRESSED,
IT'S LOOKING GOOD
Yup, looking good!
What's your favourite phrase for a motto then Chums? I think there is one that is head and shoulders above the rest but I'm keeping quiet until I get some feedback and discussion going.
In dubio - cerevisiam
sodali sodali sodali
vivendum est - bibens dolor sit
chums ad vitam - non enim Nativitatis
All very amusing choices I'm sure. How about including the translations.
'Nunc est bibendum' - Now is the time to drink.
This gets my vote.
Only problem is when you Google translate it, it gives it as ....
'Now is a regional'
I hear the sound of a gladius being unsheathed....
How bizarre, I rechecked the spelling and it is seems to be pucker.
Here's some blurb on the origin of the saying (not quite sure what the Michelin Man is doing on it though...)
Yes It's from Horace and is a famous quote. It seems Google hasn't heard of it. Silly Google. There would be little danger of it being misunderstood as it is a famous phrase.
In dubio - Cerevisiam - When in doubt have another beer
Sodali, sodali, sodali - Chum, chum, chum
Vitae vivendum - bibens dolor sit - Life is for living - beer is for drinking
Chums ad vitam - Non enim Navitatis - Chums are for life - not just for Xmas
Back in the Studio
New Still life photos in the Chain Locker
Bottom left and bottom right are my favourites Giz.
ME AND MY BIG MOUTH !!
Was just going to mention the Voyager 1 stuff and how the sound of the solar flare reflecting back gave me goosebumps but instead I see lots of me staring back!!
Right I've got it figured out.
New challenge anyone?
But I am playing with my new telly (42" LED HD) so am a bit distracted with all sorts of clever things it can do. My old one was 32" and @ 5-6 years old and a hell of a lot has changed.
I used to have a Heath Robinson ad hoc network that had developed piecemeal that required constant tweaking but tonight I have networked a 1TB NAS drive, 1 Windows Vista computer, two Windows 8 computers, an OS 10 Apple Mac and a Humax HDD recorder effortlessly(ish). It has really smooth iPlayer and you tube.
It's all so...so... well behaved. I may never have to leave the house again)
So you about to say size matter .
Commetting here as no reply link your next piece B-)
Speaking of cosmic.
Cool swirly pictures Giz.I'd probably put something like the on my man cave wall. Not sure about the flowers though.
Each to our own, Neil
You find contentment and excitement in the pulse of a solar flare -
I'm enjoying the challenge of producing something that others MIGHT enjoy - Phillistine
Prez - Not bad for my first attempt
Now waiting on Macro rings and a focus bar to get r e a l l y close
Neill - Glad you liked the water drops - My setup has been put on a diet so should soon be producing some fine slimline images.
Final aim is to create something like this - http://www.dpchallenge.com/how.php?HOW_ID=56
More Still life in the chain locker
The macro rings arrived so I've been playing some more
And a little bit of abstract for Neill
Nice to have you (and Neil) back. the site was stagnating a tad.
BTW I meant to ask. ITT has done some research work on Klymydia and may have 'discovered' a couple of new albums.Didn't they use some of your pics during their Psychaedelic days for their covers?
Hello all chums from this chum in Mexico
Hola señor McEwan. ¿Cómo es en México?
I was hoping to get a mexican chumment.
We got a text from Nicky but frankly this beats it:)
Just to make you feel happy it is gray, dull and raining here.
I have you down as in Mexico City and on your mobile phone. Is that right?
You were on the page for 1 minute(s) 28 second too:)
What are your thoughts on Mexico mate?
El Chummo, el Chummo, el Chummo!
Oh you were here on Sunday too Ewan:)
Not in Mexico city its few hours drive from here i am told on the carabean coast and the Mexicas are very chumly
Great to hear from you. Better than a postcard. It must be tea time there is it? You must be a few hours behind us.
Yup, just checked you are 6 hours behind.
Disd you see you are no longer the Zeitgeist moment? I removed you at 1 minute past your birthday and replaced you with Voyager One as it is the first thing to have reached interstellar space.
Quid enim bonum tibi est. Good for what ails you.
Grando in omni cervisie. All hail the ale.
Inter adepto. Get amongst. (one for Jovi)
Non agitare. Don't panic.
Unum in via. One for the road.
Suus mea sextarius. Mines a pint.
All good calls
I like Don't Panic and all hail the ale especially. Although the latter sound too much like my previous drinking club's motto (the High Church Of Big Beers) which was All 'ale the Big Beers!
So many mottos but there can be only one as the McLeod once said.
I will let the list sit for another week until the holiday Chums return and let them have there say they streamline it down to four or five. It is up to each Chum to post something positive about any they like. Those that receive no or negative comments won't get to the short list.
Speaking of holiday Chums, any word from Ewan lately? Hope the hurricane that is doing the rounds in Mexico hasn't affected Mr & Mrs Mc.
This holiday chum about to jump into the carabean sea B-) B-) :-)
Hurrah, Hurrah and thrice Hurrah :)
Ewan man get home soon.
We really really really really really really really really really really really
need a new Zeitgeist picture!!!
No REALLY !!
Nowts happening. OK I'll see what I can do....
And I'll leave the music challenge up till all the holiday chums return.
Not coming back. Just been to Chichenitza wow what can i say but this chum impress ed .
Its funny that the Mayans didn't think it would still be there in 2013 or anything else for that matter.
Any human sacrifices going on today?
I do like the all hail the ale and the get amongst mottos and my one regret in life is not going to chickenpizza when we went to mexico
From the list of chum mottos these are my favourite five.
Because they are:
a. Easy to pronounce when drunk.
b. Actually roll off the tongue as mottos should.
c. Make us sound more intelligent and therefore more attractive.
d. Actually project a positive message to any would be chums as
to our aims and dreams in life.
e. Life? Don't talk to me about life
f. Its all bollocks. They're short and sweet and I just like the sound of them.
Carpe cervisiam - Seize the beer.
Nunc est bibendum - Now is the time to drink.
Inter adepto.- Get amongst.
Bibo ergo sum - I drink, therefore I am.
In dubio cerevisiam - When in doubt have another beer.
Not seen one mike
The Maka's have landed...
HOLLLLLAAAAAAAAA chums we are back home from sunny Spain xXXx Maka loved the lovely fizzy lager over there and probably isn't really looking forward to that dark stuff he used to drink so its a pint of San Miguel for him or rather half to three quarters once you include that lovely frothy 2 inch head Manyana amigos xXXx
It's so nice to have youze back where you belong:)
PS Michael would really like a man cave like yours Prez :-)
Welcome home chums. Hope you had fun. The flock is slowly returning.
Man cave prez? More like Man bridge. I like the Okudagrams. Shame you don't have a proper captain's chair with things that go beep beep on it. What's behind the mysterious door? Ten forward?
The Glass door leads to a turbo shaft giving access to the rest of the house. Behind the black blinds is a place of strange new worlrds with new life and new civilisations...or the back garden as it's also known.
Speaking of beep beep the TNG Okudograms are actually pretty cool screen savers. I have uploaded a video of them on the home page - have a listen to it. It drives the wife bonkers:)
I also then removed the video as it didn't play properly....grrrr.
Holy zeitgeist Batman!!
Love the Rolf Harris style doodle from Guinness Steve.
I see Rolf has been making indecent pictures of children. Do you think they have those little kangaroo legs and goatees?
I love the Latin mottos. Although its not really a motto, crapula sounds like a blood-sucking turd!!!
Von...ah ha ha!
Poo...ah ha ha!
Pee...ah ha ha!
We chums sad to beleaving Mexico but even sadder to be missing Nickys birthday night out with the chums enjoy every one
Mexico's loss is our gain mate, looking forward to having you back.
I have just been looking at yout facebook pics looks like you have had a blast and as for the towel art - excellent stuff.
Just getting the final preparations ready for the big night finished now.
Chum, chum, chum....
BTW Ewan regardless of where ever you are and what ever you are doing when you read this........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................SHATNER!!
Wish you hadn't said that Prez!!!
Was just performing brain surgery!!
The........ Final........ Frontal.....Lobe............
Oh and get home safe Ewan and Ruth. Chum Chum Chum
I would like to thank all of the chums for making my birthday night out just perfect.
The buffet was a lovely idea really appreciated, truly yummy nosh
Thanks for all of the lovely presents and all of the silly presents great fun (our rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody topped the Wayne's world version by miles) but best of all I had a great night surrounded by lots and lots of chums and I know the chums that couldn't make it were there in spirit (probably tequila)
I am feeling very spoiled and very lucky and slightly hung over so mission accomplished heres to the next 50 years
Thanks again Chums love ya xXXx Chum Chum Chum !!!
ps Bienvenido a casa Ruth and Ewan feliz 25 aniversario xXXx
I have now put up all of my lovely cards from Sat around the living room can almost see the telly around the huge one. Forgot to thank the talented bakers for their lovely cakes nom nom nom em I mean Chum Chum Chum!
sodali sodali sodali, I came up with this untill ITT told me it was already a suggestion, still my favourite! Are you setting up a little vote thingy? As in 'barrel of chums'?!! No cheating this time lol
Top night on Saturday, cheers chums,we were surprised to see the papershop open on the way home, and how the hell do you spell your pub name wrong?
Sorry I didn't make your birthday bash Nicky, I had a prior charity do thing and was home in bed for just after 10pm lol.
Good pics of Saturday night looks like you all have fun very sorry again we missed it.
Some pretty freaky photos from Saturday at the Sporstman !!
A pretty decent chumly night was had by all. Happy Birthday Nicky.
While I'm on would any of our returning chums like to have a stab at the music challenge?
A smashing night indeed.
One of the things that was discussed was having another Laserquest event.
There are at least four or five of us who were talking about it and are up for it. Anyone else?
I am up for it
new Amsterdam photies on "the cabin" page
Potaciones in chums
bibendum vitae chums sunt chums
nos tibi semper, respice ad clara parte Beor
Just posted a few may not be good ones but all I can think of right now
We need your translations too chum. When they are translated by different web pages they often don't translate how the poster intended.
Also try translating them from Latin to English to make sure they work both ways.
Chum, chum, chum...
In infinitum, et non obliviscantur foprget ceruisa
ok one more just an add on to 29 though
Lol I like this one best:)
nos tibi semper, respice ad clara parte Beor
